This tool can be used to measure the in-tune note pitch and musette offsets for both
MM (2 reeds/note) and MMM (3 reeds/note) configured accordions.
This is a free open-source AI collaboration experiment.
Use it at your own risk.
I make no warranty as to its accuracy or usefulness.
Please sanity-check any results against a professional accordion tuner program like Dirk's Accordion Tuner before modifying any reeds.
How to use the tuner:
1) Choose your reed configuration

MM (2 reeds): 0 / +
One reed is treated as the reference reed (the lower pitch).
The other reed is the musette reed.
The musette value is the cents/beats difference between the two reeds.
MM needle:
Center = reference reed, needle shows the musette reed offset (normally to the right).

MMM (3 reeds)
Choose which reference basis you want using the Reed configuration dropdown:

MMM (3 reeds): - / 0 / +:
The middle reed is the reference, one musette reed is below and one is above.

MMM (3 reeds): 0 / + / +:
The lowest reed is the reference, both musette reeds are above.
The musette values are the cents/beats difference between the reference reed and the two reeds.
MMM needles:
Center = reference reed, other two needles shows the two musette reed offsets.
2) Select your A4 tuning
Range is 438-446 Hz, default is 440 Hz.
3) Start the tuner
Click
START and allow microphone access when prompted.
For best results, play one steady note at a time.
Hold the note for a moment so the display stabilizes.
Tips: use normal bellows pressure, avoid vibrato, and tune in a quiet room.
4) Watch the live display
While holding a steady note:
- Note shows the detected note name (based on the reference reed).
- Reference: shows the measured frequency of the reference reed and delta in Hz and cents from ideal ET.
- Needle shows the tuning/offset behavior described above for MM or MMM.
- Musette shows the cents and beats offset(s) of the musette reed(s) relative to the reference reed.
5) Release the note to lock and save
When you stop playing, the tuner automatically locks and saves a row in the table.
The “Saved” indicator confirms the measurement was recorded.
6) Understand the results table
Each saved row includes:
- Config:
MM or MMM reed configuration.
- Note:
Note name.
- ET Hz:
The equal-tempered target for the detected note.
- Ref Hz:
Measured reference reed frequency.
- Δ from ET:
Delta of the reference reed from equal temperament, shown in Hz and cents.
- Musette:
Reed-to-reed offset(s) in cents and beats relative to the reference reed.
Click the red x to clear the results.
7) Measure the next note
Click NEXT NOTE to reset and repeat for another pitch.
8) Live mode
Check the Live mode checkbox to continuously recognize notes and musette offsets without saving results.
9) Printing the results
You can use the Print feature in your browser to print the results table.
10) Export the results as a CSV file
Click CSV at the top of the results table to export the results as a CSV file.
The file will be saved into your browser's default Downloads directory.
Limitations
- The tool may have difficulty detecting notes below C4.
- The tool may struggle to provide accurate musette measures for dry-tuned accordions.
